Emptiness and desire
Being in nature feels like coming home in myself.
My series 'Emptiness and desire', made in nature, involves picturesque, abstract photographs, for which I use my camera as a paintbrush.
The images are the result of a long, creative process in which I play with rhythm and pace, slowing down and accelerating, shapes, colours and different athmospheres, looking for harmony and contrast.
Focus and one single relaxed exhalation are needed to create flow and energy.
Creating these images feels like a dance, physically and mentally; an interplay between my inner world and the world around me. Everything I touch in one movement flows together into one image.
Many works were made close to home, some further away, such as at the foot of a glacier in Norway and in the mountains of Swedish Lapland.
I do not manipulate the images other than a basic finish in Photoshop. Everything in the picture was captured on camera, in a single image.
